Home Credit PH reaches 100,000 customers

Published on 2.11.2015

Manila, November 2, 2015 – Home Credit, a consumer finance company, that focuses on providing in-store financing to mass-market customers, announces it has achieved a significant milestone of 100,000 active clients. The simplicity and accessibility of company’s services allowed it to reach such a milestone in just two years from the start of operations.

Home Credit drives and broadens financial inclusion for the unbanked population by providing a safe borrowing experience

– the first for many customers. Its core business is non-cash, no-collateral in-store financing of purchases for customers, seeking to buy appliances and mobile devices (computers, tablets, laptops and mobile phones) through monthly installments even without a credit card. Home Credit provides its customers with a monthly installment plan while paying directly to the retailers for the purchased goods. All that a customer needs to apply for a loan is two IDs (one of them should indicate current address) and a down payment. The loan is approved in less than 30 minutes, so the customer may leave the shop with a desired good in less than an hour.

Home Credit launched its operations in the Philippines in 2013 and currently operates in 5 Luzon provinces and 13 Manila districts providing its services in 735 partner stores as of 31 of October. The simplicity and accessibility of company’s services allowed it to reach a milestone of 100,000 customers in just two years. More partner stores are soon to be opened to further bring Home Credit closer to consumers looking to improve their lives. And the growth will also soon extend to other Philippines cities.

David Minol, CEO, Home Credit Philippines: “The in-store lending – which enables purchases of consumer goods with installments – grows really fast. The estimated growth-rate of this market during 2015 will exceed 100%. Almost 90% of the Philippines’ customers take a loan for the first time in their lives and we are here to assist them with safe borrowing experience. We are committed to offer simple, transparent and accessible loans to previously undeserved customers besides guiding them on the path of financial literacy. Our aim is to become the first and most trusted choice for consumer credit in the country”.

Home Credit Philippines is a part of global Home Credit Group, an international consumer finance provider with operations in 11 countries across Europe, Asia and North America. Home Credit Philippines is headquartered in Pasig City, Metro Manila, total employee strength is over 1,300 and keeps growing.

100,000th client’s loan waived

Published on 21.10.2015

On October 21, Home Credit proudly welcomed to its head office its 100,000th customer, Laura Vergara

. To celebrate this milestone, Laura’s loan was fully waived by the company.

Laura is a government employee and a mother to a new-born baby, who in the past months has been experiencing trouble in getting much-needed sleep due to hot weather. So Laura decided to buy an Air Conditioner to remedy the situation and provide the comfort that her baby needed. She knew though that it would be difficult to find an air-con with a price that would fit her budget. But through Home Credit loan, she was able to purchase and immediately bring home an air-con from SM Appliances – all in a day! And since then, Laura declares that the air-con has provided so much comfort to her new-born.

After the awarding rites, Laura was toured around the office and was introduced to department heads. Amidst the congratulations and well wishes, Laura’s smile has never waned. “I never expected this,” she says. Unexpected but well-deserved for a parent like her. Home Credit is happy to have been an instrument in improving Laura’s family’s living condition.
