Building Hope, One Home at a Time: Home Credit Breaks Ground with Gawad Kalinga

In line with Home Credit’s commitment to empowering Filipinos and supporting sustainable communities, recently partnered with Gawad Kalinga for a groundbreaking ceremony in Bagong Silang, Caloocan on October 10, 2025. The event marked the beginning of a housing project that will soon provide safe, dignified homes for Filipino families.

The ceremony gathered our executives, employees, volunteers, and community partners in a shared celebration of purpose. Together, we turned the first shovelfuls of soil that will lead to the construction of 20 new homes – a tangible expression of our dedication to making a positive and lasting impact in the communities we serve.

“This partnership really reflects on our commitment of giving back to the communities,” shared Jana Pechouckova, Home Credit’s Chief Administrative Officer and Chief Financial Officer. “It goes beyond bricks and walls—it’s about helping families live and dream better lives.”

Our Chief People Officer, Barbara Ann Mecua, also emphasized how the initiative reinforces our values of care and social responsibility: “This is our way of showing that we care, that we want to help our communities live better lives and empower them to have a better future.”

The day was filled with gratitude and hope, especially when one of the future homeowners expressed, “Malaking bagay po ‘yung pagkakaroon namin ng sariling tahanan… isang malaking pasasalamat po ang nais kong ipaabot.” (“Having our own home is a huge deal for us… I would like to express my immense gratitude.”) Her words were a powerful reminder of how meaningful our collective efforts can be.

Through this partnership, we continue to uphold our ESG commitment—creating opportunities that strengthen communities, promote inclusion, and build the foundations for a more sustainable and hopeful future.
