Scammers are becoming more creative in targeting unsuspecting Filipinos. Recently, alarming schemes have surfaced online that prey on Home Credit customers.

Ayon sa Republic Act No. 12010 or the Anti-Financial Account Scamming Act (AFASA) at iba pang related regulations, using financing services for fraudulent purposes is considered a crime.
Conversion of Home Credit Product Loans or QWARTA to cash, the use of or allowing the use of another person’s Home Credit account and pre-approved loan offer, as well as the promotion or facilitation of such activities (“Fraudulent Activities”), constitute criminal offenses under AFASA.
Specifically, these acts are considered MONEY MULING, a form of FINANCIAL ACCOUNT SCAMMING under Section 4(a) of AFASA, which are punishable by:
