What’s Covered in Home Protection Plan?
Spoiler: It’s a lot—like, really a lot.
When we say this plan has you covered, we’re not just talking about a few items or isolated incidents.
The Home Protection Plan is designed to support you in multiple ways, especially when life throws curveballs your way.
Here's a deeper dive into what’s included:
1. Home Structure Protection
Let’s start with the basics: your actual home. This plan protects the physical structure of your home from a wide range of unfortunate events—think of it as a safety net for your walls, roof, flooring, windows, doors, and even built-in fixtures like cabinets and stairs.
If something unexpected happens, you can file a claim for damage caused by:
- Typhoon – strong winds and heavy rains
- Earthquake – ground shaking or tremors
- Fire – accidental or disaster-related
- Landslide – soil and rock movement due to heavy rains or seismic activity
- Lightning strikes – direct hits causing damage
- Flood – water damage from overflowing rivers, heavy rains, or storms
- Falling trees or branches – due to storms or strong winds
- Smoke damage – from nearby or internal fires
- Vehicle impact – a car or other vehicle accidentally crashing into your property
- Theft or robbery damage – physical damage caused during a break-in
It’s a long list, and that’s a good thing—because it means you’re covered in more situations than you might expect.
It’s comprehensive, and more importantly, it gives you that reassuring feeling that you’re not facing repairs alone.
2. Protection for Your Belongings
Now, let’s talk about the things inside your home, If you’ve invested in a smart TV, a laptop for work, or a nice refrigerator—whether you’re paying off through Home Credit or not — all of that is eligible for protection under this plan.
It goes beyond the big-ticket appliances. You’re also covered for:
- Furniture (sofas, beds, tables)
- Clothing and accessories
- Sporting equipment (yes, even that treadmill or e-bike!)
- Musical instruments
- Kitchenware and utensils and other belongings
Whether the damage is from a natural disaster, or another covered event, you can breathe easier knowing that your everyday essentials are backed up.
3. Emergency Home Assistance
This is one of the most practical—and most underrated—benefits. Sometimes the stress isn’t about long-term damage, but the need for quick fixes at home.
If you’ve ever had to scramble for a plumber to fix a leaking pipe at night or called five different electricians because of faulty wiring, this part will feel like a lifesaver.
With the Home Protection Plan, you get access to emergency services like:
- Plumbing assistance (for broken pipes, clogged drains, etc.)
- Electrical services (like sudden power loss or faulty outlets)
- Glass repair (for windows or doors)
- Locksmiths (if you get locked out or need to secure your home quickly)
These services are designed to respond as soon as possible, giving you peace of mind during urgent, stressful moments.
4. Fire-Related Benefits
Fires are one of the most devastating things that can happen to a home—but with this plan, you don’t have to deal with the aftermath alone.
If a fire breaks out and causes damage, you can get up to ₱25,000 to help with firefighting expenses—because let’s be real, even putting the fire out can come with costs.
On top of that, if you had to move some of your belongings elsewhere temporarily—maybe due to renovation, relocation, or construction—and those items get damaged, you can claim another ₱25,000 for the loss or repair of those items.
So even if your things aren’t in your house at the time of the incident, you’re still protected. That’s a rare kind of flexibility in a protection plan.
